Snickers bars are a classic candy that has earned a special place in baking and in the hearts of many people. Originating in the United States, these bars combine intense flavors and diverse textures, such as chocolate, caramel, peanuts, and nougat. In different Latin American countries, although the Snickers bar maintains its recognized name, they are also often called "peanut chocolate bar" or simply "chocolate bar with peanuts," adapting to local customs and available ingredients.
This delicious combination has inspired many to create homemade versions or imitations, seeking to capture the original flavor but with a personal touch and using more accessible or natural ingredients. Preparing an imitation Snickers bar at home allows you not only to control the quality of the ingredients but also to enjoy the process of creating a sweet that reminds you of childhood and special shared moments.
How to Prepare Imitation Snickers Bar
Ingredients: Light Corn Syrup, Butter, Vanilla Extract, Peanut Butter, Salt, Powdered Sugar, Kraft Caramels, Unsalted Roasted Peanuts, Milk Chocolate Chips.
With the mixer on high speed, combine the corn syrup, butter, vanilla, peanut butter, and salt until a creamy mixture is obtained.
Slowly add the powdered sugar.
When the mixture has the consistency of dough, remove it from the bowl with your hands and press it into a lightly greased 9x9 inch pan.
Place in the refrigerator.
Melt the caramels in a small saucepan over low heat.
When the caramel is smooth, mix in the peanuts.
Pour the mixture over the refrigerated nougat in the pan.
Let cool in the refrigerator.
When the refrigerated mixture is firm, melt the chocolate over low heat in a double boiler or in a microwave on high power for 2 minutes.
Stir halfway through the cooking time.
When the mixture in the pan has hardened, cut it into 2x1 inch sections.
Place each piece on a fork and dip it into the melted chocolate.
Tap the fork against the edge of the bowl or pan to remove excess chocolate.
Then place the pieces on wax paper to cool at room temperature.
This may take several hours, but the bars will solidify better this way.
You can speed up the process by placing the bars in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
