Savory stuffed meat pie

The savory stuffed meatloaf is an iconic recipe that has transcended generations and borders. Its origin dates back to European culinary traditions, particularly from England, where it is known as "meatloaf". Over time, this preparation was adapted and fused with local ingredients and techniques in Latin America, giving rise to various variants. In countries like Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina, although the basic concept remains, the meatloaf may also be known as "baked meatloaf" or simply "meatloaf", with fillings ranging from vegetables to combinations of cheeses or sausages. This recipe stands out for its versatility and its ability to combine flavors and textures that make every bite comforting and tasty.

How to Prepare Savory Stuffed Meatloaf

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix all the ingredients except for the filling.

Spread 2/3 of the mixture into an ungreased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan, pressing the mixture against the sides of the pan to within 3/4 inch of the top.

Place the filling over the mixture in the pan and then cover with the remaining meat mixture, completely covering the filling.

Bake in the oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Drain excess fat and let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes before cutting into thick slices.

Serve on a warm platter.

To prepare the meatloaf filling, melt the butter in a large skillet.

Add the onion and celery and cook, stirring, until the onion is tender.

Remove from heat and mix the remaining ingredients.
