Raisin cake

Living raisin pie is a traditional dessert that has been a part of home baking in several Latin American countries. Its origin dates back to European influences, particularly British and Spanish, which combined local techniques and flavors to bring this delicious preparation to life. In different regions, it goes by various names; for example, in Mexico and Central America, it may be found as "raisin pie" or simply "raisin cake," while in parts of South America, it is known as "raisin tart." This dessert stands out for its soft texture and sweet flavor, complemented by citrus and spicy notes that make it ideal for family celebrations or as a sweet treat at any time of the day.

The main ingredient, living raisins, provides juiciness and a pleasant chewiness that perfectly contrasts with the pie's crunchy crust. Furthermore, the use of fresh orange juice and orange zest adds freshness and an unmistakable aroma that distinguishes this cake from other similar preparations. It is traditionally served with coffee or tea, further enhancing the culinary experience of those who enjoy this recipe.
