Pizza crust with garlic

Garlic pizza crust is a delicious variation that has its roots in Italian tradition, where garlic bread has been a popular accompaniment to pizzas and pastas for centuries. In various Latin American countries, this way of preparing the pizza base may simply be known as "garlic dough" or "pizza base with garlic," highlighting the characteristic flavor that garlic provides. In Mexico, it is common for pizzas to have a specially seasoned crust, while in countries like Argentina and Chile, garlic dough is valued for giving a traditional pizza an aromatic and different touch. This recipe combines the spongy texture of the dough with the warm and savory touch of garlic, making each bite a unique experience. Furthermore, it is a creative way to give pizza a twist, highlighting essential elements of garlic bread and the pizza world in general.

How to Make Garlic Pizza Crust

Ingredients: yeast, water, sugar, oil, salt, flour, garlic cloves.

Dissolve the yeast in water and add sugar.

Wait a few minutes.

Add oil, salt, and garlic.

Mix in 3 cups of flour and beat for about 10 minutes until it pulls away from the sides of the mixer bowl.

Add the remaining flour with a dough hook or by hand.

Knead until smooth.

Let it rest to double in size twice in the bowl.

Punch down.

Grease the baking sheets.

Press with your fingers to the edges.

Yields 2 cookie sheet-sized pizzas; let it rest a bit and add toppings.

Bake at 425°F for 20 minutes.

This is fantastic.

The crust smells slightly like garlic bread, but it's not strong.

We usually make one with cheese and the other with ground beef, ham, onion, and mushrooms.

Even the kids say it's the best crust so far.

This yields 2 cookie sheet-sized pizzas or 12 snack-sized ones for after school; I shape them in the bottom of a cheap pie pan, cover them with toppings, bake them completely, and put them in zip-top bags.
