Orange and lemon schnitzel rolls are a delicious variation of a classic European dish, schnitzel, which originally comes from Austria and Germany. This dish consists of thin pieces of breaded and fried meat, also very popular in different Latin American countries under different names and adaptations. In Mexico it is commonly known as "milanesa", in Argentina and Uruguay it goes by the same name and is usually made with beef, while in other parts of Latin America it may be called "escalopas" or simply "breaded steak".
The incorporation of citrus ingredients like orange and lemon adds freshness and a unique touch to the traditional recipe, reflecting an interesting fusion between classic European flavors and the Latin American palate, which is always seeking new combinations in the kitchen. This combination not only enriches the flavor but also offers a colorful and sophisticated presentation, ideal for special occasions or to surprise at a family meal.
