In different Latin American regions, variants can be found under similar names or even with slight changes in preparation, but always maintaining their essence of a thin dough and a crunchy texture with a sweet touch. Their origin dates back to Eastern Europe, where housewives would prepare these treats to share with the family, and over time, the recipe adopted local ingredients and techniques.
