Kraut Burgers is a traditional dish with roots in German-American cuisine, popularized by German immigrants who brought their culinary customs to the United States and Latin America. In different Latin American countries, this dish may also be known as "stuffed croquettes" or simply "cabbage and meat turnovers." Its name "kraut" comes from the German term for "cabbage," which is a fundamental ingredient in the recipe. This delight combines the soft and fluffy texture of the dough with a savory filling of meat and sautéed cabbage, reflecting the cultural and gastronomic blend between Europe and America.
This dish is highly appreciated in family celebrations and holidays for its unique flavor and versatility. The combination of slightly caramelized cabbage with seasoned ground meat creates a perfect contrast with the light, golden-brown baked dough.
