History and origin of Dutch lawyer
Dutch lawyer, known in its country of origin as "Advocaat", is a traditional beverage that comes from the Netherlands. It is a thick and creamy liqueur prepared mainly with egg yolks, sugar, and brandy. According to tradition, this liqueur was named "Advocaat" because the Dutch believed its consistency and smoothness helped soothe the throat, which was especially beneficial for lawyers who had to speak a lot in public.
In different Latin American countries, this preparation may have other names or variants, but its essence remains similar. In some regions, it is known as "egg liqueur" or "egg cream", and it is often used in celebrations and festivities, especially during the Christmas season.
