Dill bread

Dill bread is a delicious specialty with its roots in the culinary traditions of Central and Eastern Europe, particularly in countries like Germany, Poland, and Russia. In Latin America, although not as common as in Europe, it has been adopted in some regions under similar names or simply known as "bread flavored with dill." In other Latin American countries, it might be called "herb bread" or "spiced bread," depending on the local use of dill, which can vary in popularity. This bread is characterized by the fresh and light aroma provided by the dill, an herb that enhances both savory and sweet dishes. Traditionally, it is enjoyed with butter or as an accompaniment to soups and salads, reminding us of European flavors fused with ingredients adapted to different cultures.

How To Make Dill Bread

Dissolve the yeast in warm water.

Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl, except add the flour gradually.

Beat until well combined and the mixture is firm but not heavy.

Cover and let it rest in a warm place until it doubles in size.

Punch down the dough and place it in a bread pan, or shape it into a round on a greased cookie sheet.

Let it rest again.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Bake for 30 to 45 minutes at 350 degrees F.

While still warm, spread the loaf with soft butter and sprinkle generously with salt.
