History and origin of bacon and mushroom stir-fry

Bacon and mushroom stir-fry is a recipe that combines culinary influences from Western and Asian cuisines, especially Chinese. The stir-fry method originates from China and is characterized by cooking food quickly over high heat to preserve its texture and flavor. In Latin America, this type of dish has different names depending on the country; for example, in Mexico it is simply known as "salteado," while in countries like Argentina or Chile it is usually called "vegetable stir-fry with bacon." Its popularity has grown due to the combination of the richness of bacon and the freshness of vegetables, making it a delicious and versatile option for any meal.

In other Latin American countries, this dish or similar ones may vary in their ingredients, but the stir-fry technique remains. For example, in Peru it might be called "mixed stir-fry" or "vegetable stir-fry," and it is common to serve it with rice or noodles. This recipe stands out for its ease of preparation and the possibility of using various fresh ingredients on hand, making it a favorite for quick but nutritious meals.
