How to Make Spaghetti Sauce with Italian Sausage
Ingredients: Italian Sausage, Dried Parsley, Garlic, Olive Oil, Cayenne Red Pepper, All-Purpose Flour, Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce, Onions, Celery, Dried Mint, Bell Pepper, Tomato Sauce, Water, Salt, Dry White Wine.
Steps:
Cut the Italian sausage into 2-inch pieces.
Brown the sausage in olive oil, remove from the pan, and set aside. Add flour to the used oil and make a roux.
Add onions, celery, and bell pepper.
Stir and cook until tender or translucent.
Add water and stir until smooth.
Add wine, parsley, and garlic.
Pour in red pepper, Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce, dried mint, and tomato sauce.
Stir very well.
Bring to a bubbling boil and add salt to taste.
Add the sausage.
Bring back to a boil.
Reduce the heat to a simmer.
Cook for approximately 3 or 4 hours.
Serve over spaghetti topped with cheese.
