History and Origin of Pizza Rolls
Pizza rolls are a delicious variant of the classic Italian pizza that has been adapted in various ways in different Latin American countries. Although their base comes from traditional pizza, these rolls represent a practical and creative way to enjoy the characteristic flavors of pizza in a smaller, more portable format.
In Mexico and some regions of Central America, they are commonly known as "pizza rolls," while in other countries they may be called "pizza rolls" or even "pizza burritos," due to their rolled shape similar to burritos. This recipe is ideal for sharing at family gatherings or with friends and has gained popularity for the possibility it offers of including a wide variety of ingredients inside each roll.
Their origin is not linked to a specific region, but we can say that they are a clear example of Italian influence in Latin American cuisine, with a unique touch that reflects the culinary creativity of the area.
