French toast with egg whites

French toast is a traditional dish enjoyed in many cultures around the world. Its origin dates back to ancient times when the method of soaking bread in egg and then cooking it was used to make use of stale bread leftovers. In Latin America, this dish goes by different names depending on the country: in Mexico they are known as "tostadas francesas," in Argentina and Chile they are also called "tostadas francesas," while in Colombia and Venezuela it is common to find it as "pan francés." Despite the variations in name, the base preparation is usually very similar, adapting to local ingredients and culinary preferences.

Over time, this dish has been reinvented to offer healthier versions, such as egg white French toast, which reduces the fat and cholesterol content. They are an ideal option for those who want to enjoy a delicious breakfast without giving up a balanced diet.
